Swim

There will be plenty of  lifeguards in and around the pool. The athletes are directed into the pool, one at a time, with a few seconds between each child. They can use any stroke they  like (no floaties, life jackets, fins, snorkels, noodles, kick boards, etc.) and can stop at anytime at the wall and rest if needed.

If for whatever reason a child cannot finish, a lifeguard will help them out of the pool, remove their timing chip, and let them finish the race just like everyone else. The only difference will be that they will not have an "official" finishing time and are not eligible for awards. They will still receive a medal at the finish line.

As you come out of the pool, there will be volunteers to point you back to transition. As you’re running to transition, take off your swim cap and goggles.

A colored swim cap is provided and MUST be worn. Goggles are optional.
