It's time to register and start training for the 2014 Greenland Pines Reading Racers!

Hello Everyone,

Thank you so much for your interest in joining the GPE Reading Racers triathlon team for 2014.  We have some information to pass along to you and if you have any questions please let me know.

1. If you are interested in taking advantage of the Y's FREE triathlon training program it will begin next week but you have to register for the triathlon first in order to participate in this free program.  There are various locations where you can participate in this training.  If you are not able to attend, do not worry, you can still get the training you need by participating in our training days or training on your own by simply getting into a routine of riding your bike and running weekly.  I have attached some information regarding the clinics and locations.

2.  The First Coast Kids Triathlon volunteers will be coming out to GPE to host an event on Saturday March 29th.  The PTA is holding a Health and Safety Fair on that day from 3-6pm  The triathlon volunteers will be running a continuous clinic that incorporates triathlon basics and transition within a fun PE setting.  We will also have a bike club out hosting a Bike Rodeo.  This will be a great opportunity to check your bike out for safety and your helmet and test your skills on a course.  Tell others about this event since there will be so much more to do than just those two things....JSO, JFRD, Red Cross, Safety First Jax, Century Ambulance, Masonic Child ID program, YMCA to name a few.

3.   If you haven't registered yet for the race please do so as soon as you can so you don't run the risk if it selling out.  You can register at http://www.firstcoastkidstriathlon.com/

4.  Make sure you get your kids out riding their bike over spring break and running some, especially when the weather is so nice like today.

If you are interested in meeting at the Cecil Aquatics center to practice swimming let me know and we will coordinate a day during spring break.  I don't want to set a day if no one is interested.
